Can I set the switch character in shl (shell layers) to be BREAK? Using inband signalling (to borrow a term) doesn't seem quite right, especially since there is no way to send that character (via escaping it or typing it twice, like ~ in rlogin). I am running HPUX 6.0 on a 9000/350, and I want to be able to have more than one things going on at once when I'm logged on through the tty port (and a pair of modems). Sorry, you cannot set the switch character to BREAK, as BREAK is not a character. (How would you issue the command? "stty swtch \what?") Most people are able to find a character that isn't used elsewhere. I have used control-E and DEL (control-?) with success. If you really really really need this capability, send me mail and we'll discuss it. (It is possible.)
