Here are some good numbers for I/O. The benchmarks were completed with an 825 and a 350. Both systems were idle. The instrument used in the test was an hp3565 digital signal processing system. The hp36565 is rated at 900K bytes per second. Here goes: 825 350 Address device to talk: .004 Sec. .000168 ( bytes/sec. ) 100 byte transfer read: 13,063 31,565 write: 18,642 168,918 10,000 byte transfer read: 416,614 408,874 write: 453,658 409,170 65536 byte transfer read: 564,590 408,870 write: 612,497 410,158 100,000 byte transfer read: (1) 408,876 (1) 413,210 (1) The 825 locked up on transfers greater than a 16 bit short- thus, the 65536 test? Sure hope someone plans on fixing it!! Here is one math benchmark. The test performed a frequency response calculation ( in polar coordinates )- The results are returned in dBV/Deg on a 512 complex block: 825 350 .056 .077 (sec.) DISCLAIMER As with ALL benchmarks the above results should be taken with a grain of salt. Jeff Harrell hpubvwa!weycord!jeffh (206) 927-9268
