[comp.sys.hp] Source for screen-dump program wanted for HP9000c320

jensen@gt-eedsp.UUCP (P. Allen Jensen) (05/18/88)

I need a program to do a screen-dump from an HP9000c320. The images are
being done in gray-scale. The hard-copy devices I have to choose from
are an Apple Laserwriter Plus, an HP Laserjet, and a QMS Laserprinter.
The software should be free and I need source.

Thanks

HP-UX used to include a program /usr/lib/starbase/demos/dumpgraphics.c.
It was provided in source form. It has been replaced by 'pcltrans', which
is not available in source form.

'dumpgraphics' could read the bitmap for most Starbase-supported displays,
IOR the memory planes, and convert the result to PCL (HP raster standard)
format suitable for a LaserJet (but not PostScript).

Since you probably would also prefer to have the grey-scale point values
dithered, you would need to modify 'dumpgraphics'. If you cannot find it on
your system, contact your local SE, or make a request here on the net.
