Someone told me of a rumor that HP was going to continue supporting the HP1000 for some years to come. Has any body else heard this? If so, which models? (The explanation involved the use of these models in some military applications.) David Coster dcoster@phoenix.princeton.edu dcoster%ppc.mfenet@anlvms.bitnet dcoster%ppc.mfenet@nmfecc.arpa

There *are* a number of military customers (rumor has it the navy) which just love'em, so maybe even beyond 2000? > David Coster -- Mike Light. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Mike Light HP Industrial Applications Center - mlight@hpiacla.HP.COM -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yep, the HP 1000 will be supported until AT LEAST the year 2000... If you have an M-series or any earlier model, I wouldn't hold my breath for WONDERFUL support though. HP discontinued the M-series some time ago. The E-series was supposed to be discontinued too but I heard that it got a reprieve. =============================================================================== Steve Witten steve%hpiacla@hplabs.HP.COM Industrial Applications Center {ucbvax, hplabs}!hpda!hpdsla!hpiacla!steve Hewlett-Packard Co. steve@hpiacla "...I'm no fool!
