I'm interested in connecting two distant TCP/IP sites with some kind of 9600 baud modem connection or possibly x.25. I assume the simplest is to use slip over 9600 baud modems, but this may not be realistic. What I've got for hardware is a couple of HP 800-series computers and Telebit original-Trailblazer modems; I'd like to minimize additional purchases, and working over dialup would be nice but not critical. Has anybody tried this, and has it worked? Thanks; Bill Stewart, ho95c.att.com!wcs AT&T Bell Labs Room 2G218, Holmdel NJ

I have a similar requirement here, except that we are running Ultrix on a couple of Microvaxen. The two sites I want to interconnect are just down the street from each other, and there is a 9600 baud asynch line in place between them. Has anyone successfully installed and used SLIP under Ultrix? Allan Jost Technical University of Nova Scotia
