[comp.sys.hp] Asyncio on Sockets

Jon@ucl-cs.UUCP (11/26/88)

I have a user space TP4 protocol implementation that works on many flavours
of U**x, but relies on asyncio on sockets. The manual pages for HP-UX
6.2 on 9000-350s suggests it should work, but the
include files for the fcntls that set a socket/file descriptor to
ASYNCIO have the relvant part *commented out*, and doing an ioctl
direct with the right value doesnt have any effect (though it doesnt
cause an error either!).,

any suggestions?

I believe this feature will be supported and available in HP-UX 6.5.

In the manual entry for ioctl it says the following...

     DEPENDENCIES
          Series 300, 500
               Asynchronous I/O is not supported.

Sorry.
