Since we got our first HP370 computer, I have been searching for a way to run DECnet and the LAT terminal server driver software. I have since found out that a company called KI Research will have this product by around the end of the month. They would have had it sooner, but HP is stone- walling them by not providing interface documentation. I think HP should should encourage this company, not discourage them. The lack of termserver and DECnet support is one of the reasons we are probably going with DECstations instead of HP800 series machines. HP talks about DEC -> HP migration, but how can we connect to these when we have a building full of LAT terminal servers? I know DEC networking standards are proprietary, but we can't replace the termservers :-( This is a plea from a customer. Could someone knowledgeable from HP networking services give KI Research a call at (603) 888-0304.
