I'm running HP-UX 6.2 and ARPA-services on a HP9000/320 with 3.5Mb memory. I've been told that I need more memory when I want to upgrade to HP-UX 6.5, because the system has grown. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Johan, According to the 6.5 Software Release Plan the RAM requirements for 6.5 remain the same as for 6.0 (zero). However with 6.5 the X11 windowing system is part of AXE and PE (and Windows/9000 is also still included). If you did not use X before and are going to use it now then you will most likely need more memory. Contact your account AE for details for your specific situation. For completeness some numbers on *disk* sizes in Mbytes : Product 6.2 size 6.5 size 6.5 without X11 ------- -------- -------- --------------- AXE 16.4 26.2 20.2 AXE + PE 42.0 57.5 48.4 SW Bundle 47.4 63.7 54.7 Regards, Frank Slootweg, HP, Dutch Country Response Center.
