I'm trying to compile GNUemacs (version 18.50) on our new hp9000/835. From the file etc/MACHINES I understand that for this machine a special unexec.c is needed, which is refered to as unexec.s800. However, my GNU distribution does not contain that file, and the original unexec.c does not compile at all (dozens of errors). Could somebody mail that file to me, I would be very grateful. Also any other hints on bugs and problems that I am yet to encounter with GNUemacs on the hp are very welcome. I would like to stress that I am _not_ able to ftp from the Netherlands, so I really need the stuff to be mailed to me. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michel Berkelaar | Email: michel@euteal.nl Eindhoven University of Technology | michel@euteal.eunet Dept. of Electrical Engineering | ...!mcvax!euteal!michel Design Automation Section | P.O. Actually, you should just get the latest sources. I recently built the 18.53 with no problems. Don Bennett (408)433-3311 dpb@frame.com Frame Technology

[ Regarding GNUEmacs on HP9000/8xx machine ] Strictly speaking. the "latest" version from prep.ai.mit.edu is 18.54. However, I echo Don Bennet's thoughts [Hi Don!] since Stallman has graciously added a number of 800 modifications to the source, including a working unexec.c. -Peter Marvit <marvit@hplabs.hp.com>
