[comp.sys.hp] Extra memory for HP 9000 340 workstation - Info wanted.

pkatz@kitkat.axion.bt.co.uk (philip katz) (05/24/89)

We are currently running X11 on HP 9000 340 workstations with the
default (4Mb ?) memory and seem to be hitting against this. Windows are slow
to redraw etc.

What memory upgrades are available for this machine? Do any 3rd
party companies make these boards? Has anyone had any good/bad experiences?
How about cost?

Sorry about all the questions, but we've just moved to HP from
VAXstations and I don't really know the HP market.

re: "...HP 9000 340 workstations with the default (4Mb ?) memory..."

Yep, that's the default.

> What memory upgrades are available for this machine?

Product number 98268A adds 4 Mbytes. Max memory is 16 Mbytes. You can
therefore install up to three 98268As.

Not yet, that I know of, although other Series 300s have clone RAM available.
