I am thinking of purchasing a Data General 88000 machine as an academic workstation. The price sounds too good to be true for a machine loaded with memory, a 322 mb hard disk and other nice stuff. I would like to hear from the experts about whether it seems reasonable to expect a great deal of software support in the not too distant future. Are a lot of vendors writing software for the 88000? Will it be possible to run DOS applications by the year 1990? Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Please respond via e-mail or post news. Dan Naiman - msc_wdqn@jhunix
