I am running a HP=UX cluster (HP9000s300/s800) layed out below: 1 370 HPUX NFS fileserver (/usr), YP Master Server 3 350 user NFS file servers 1 835 user NFS file server 5 320 NFS clients in other words, the 370 is the only YPServer, with the others simple clients. I am experiencing two separate problems: 1) how do I propogate /etc/logingroup? and get groups to work with YP? 2) I get weird error combinations: ypcat works but yppoll doesn't. it complains about no map in domain (when the map shows up correctly with ypcat). sometimes, a YPclient seems to not bind to the server when it is rebooted, rendering it useless. since this is my first yellow pages installation, I have probably done something really braindead. If there is a better way to set up the YP configuration (slave servers, or whatever) so I can get logingroup to work. much obliged, --hal
