I have the following software support contract with HP. 82320A+S00 SMS X WINDOW SYSTEM 98594L+T22 AMS S300 UXBUNDLE (16 User) 98599L+S00 SMS PASCAL-300 98531A+S00 SMS MS-DOS/9000 Current software configuration: HP-UX 6.2 with NS-ARPA, X10, MS-DOS coprocessor Rev 1, Pascal 6.2, and SRM Utilities 6.2 My questions are: 1) What tapes should I expect to receive for my 6.5 update? ( I have received one tape - 98549L*1719 - 6.5 Bundle ) 2) Shouldn't I have received the 6.5 tapes already? 3) What is the most current version of the MS-DOS coprocessor software? I have posed these questions to my account CE and my sales rep. and neither gave me a straight answer. I've waited patiently for more tapes since I received the Bundle tape about 4 months ago. Can anyone help? -- Randy O'Meara randy@oetl.Scf.Lockheed.Com (408) 425-6249 ...{pyramid,leadsv,lstc}!oetl!randy

Let me preface this by saying to keep after your HP field representatives. They should be able to get you the tapes you need. I worked on the 6.5 release, but keep in mind I only know about those parts of HP-UX that were coordinated through HP in Fort Collins. The Bundle product in 6.5 contains X11. I have heard that there was a 6.5 version of X10 built, but it is supplied and supported by Corvallis, so we had nothing to do with it. It may have to be specially ordered, but I am not certain. The 6.5 release was the first Series 300 release in which an X product was incorporated into AXE and PE, but it was X11. You should have gotten a new Pascal update media. They were built for 6.5. We also don't have anything to do the MS-DOS coprocessor product, but there wasn't an update for this product for 6.5 so you wouldn't have gotten a tape for it. > 2) Shouldn't I have received the 6.5 tapes already? Yes. I believe that tapes were shipped beginning around April and finishing in May. But that again would be restricted to the Bundle and Pascal products only. > 3) What is the most current version of the MS-DOS coprocessor > software? I don't know the answer to this. Get after him/her too. The usual disclaimer that this is my view only, and doesn't represent the official position of HP applies here. Bruce Rodean rodean%hpfclg@hplabs.HP.COM

3) What is the most current version of the MS-DOS coprocessor software? 2.0; the part number is still 98531A. You definitely should have received your tapes by now (if you were on SMS by December 1988). The DOS Coprocessor releases are usually "asynchronous" to HP-UX releases. 2.0 will work with HP-UX 6.2 and 6.5.
