Here at Utah we have about a zillion HP disks, and occasionaly one of them starts failing with "maintenence tracks full" errors. We call in our service reps, they hook up the disk to some portable computer and run some tests on it, than claim it is fixed. Is there a way to do this WITHOUT involving an HP CE? Can /usr/CE.utilities/CS80/exerciser do this? What is the service engineer password? Why does it use "ps -e" as a way to tell the machine is in single user mode? If netisr (hpux 6.5) is running, the exerciser won't. Is the exerciser useful for anything? mjb. mjb@hoosier.utah.edu "Wind up my chevy like an XK E, put the tach in the red, time to clear my head"
