[comp.sys.hp] Information about Hewlet Packard 1000 Mainframe

prkeen@nuchat.UUCP (Phillip Keen) (08/13/89)

My dad just purchased a Hewlett Packard 1000 Mainframe, that supposedly was
used in the South Texas Nuclear Plant, and it has a big tape drive, a hard
drive, and 2 printers, of which one might be a FAX. It doesn't have any
keyboard or no type of monitor. We need to know anything and everything we
can get our hands on. So, if you're familiar with this beast, please leave me
mail at prkeen@nuchat. He received it at an Auction or something of the like.
In your message, please leave me your phone number, so that I might can get in
touch with you, or my Dad to get in touch with you. There is a big tape in
the tape player, but we're not for sure if it includes any software or anything
like that. My Dad's name is Bob Keen. Any information will highly be ap-
preciated. Phillip Keen

If you give me the model numbers of the HP1000 and the peripherals
involved, I can give you the part numbers of some manuals which
might be useful.

> It doesn't have any keyboard or no type of monitor.

The HP1000 does not come with a monitor, like a PC. It needs a
terminal to communicate with the VCP (Virtual Control Panel).
