[comp.sys.hp] 7962 mech

I have a mech from a HP7962 (130 meg). I got it from an upgrade to
a 7963 (310 meg). Can I use this old mech for anything? Perhaps for
a Vectra RS or other system with a ESDI controller?

If you only have one mechanism in the 796x, you could try putting the
other mech back. The 796x drives run three mechanisms off of one
power supply. Although I do not think that "mixing" is a supported
configuration, to the best of my knowledge it should work.

If your 796x drives are all full, you could look for a 7961B or
7957B to upgrade.

If you are worried about support issues, ask your local office, this
is not an official HP statement.
