[comp.sys.hp] TeX+METAFONT+X Previewers available for HP9000.

irf@kuling.UUCP (Bo Thide') (09/04/89)

The previously announced TeX 2.93 + LaTex + METAFONT + PiCTeX + LaserJet +
X11/X10 previwers package for HP9000/300 and 800 series computers
is now available. I have sent out about a dozen streamer cassettes
to various sites. Until I receive them in return I cannot send out
any more (unless you send an empty cassette). "Everything", except
the X11R3 previwer 'texx2', is included. E.g., .pk fonts and drivers
for all versions of HP LaserJets as well as specially made 130pt
pk fonts for the 'texx' previewers , PiCTeX and a lot more.

We still need 'texx2' and HP DeskJet/DeskJet+ dvi drivers.

HP TeX has been built with *huge* internal memory so that you can handle
extremely long and complicated documents with text and graphics.

This package has been put together by Michael Haberler, HP Vienna, Austria,
Helmut Kopka, Max Planck Institute, Lindau, FRG, and myself with the help
from Peter Olofson, HP Stockholm, Sweden, and the HP 9000 section of SWENUG
(The Swedish HP National Users Group).

We are looking forward to having feedback from all you HP TeX-ers
out there so we can improve on the package. If INTEREX is interested
we can send a copy for possible inclusion on an HP CSL (Contributed
Software Library) tape.

I can be reached under the internet address: bt@irfu.se

Just to clarify, the TeX package includes the following X Window TeX
previewers:

	X10: 'xdvi'

	X11: 'xdvi' and 'texx'

which are all fully functional in HP-UX. It is only the new X11R3 previewer
'texx2' that is missing.
