We are running HP-UX 6.5 on a 370 SRX. If we try and create a new window in hpwindows while running Unigraphics, the new window comes up transparent (This makes things very difficult to use.) Does anyone out there know how to create a non see_thru window? (this is a retorical question since I'm sure the answer is yes :^) Using the command wcreate would probably work, but how do you attach a process to the window? On the SRX the overlay color map entries can be set to "see-thru" and a "see-thru" window is basically just a normal window with the window color set to one of these "see-thru" entries. If you use the same color for your windows they will also be painted with "see-thru". So you may just need to change the background color for your windows. I am not sure how Unigraphics sets up the color map, but you might be able to change some of the entries, too (but you better not change the see-thru entry or the Unigraphics windows will be messed up.) "see_thru" windows are not the default window type (term0 is). So if you are not purposely creating a "see_thru" window (this is done via wcreate -w see_thru), then I would say that what Bruce mentioned is indeed the problem.
