I run a mainly-HP shop centered around a LAN-connected 9000/825, 9000/340, and a Vectra RS-20 running SCO Xenix. (Also some non LAN-connected HP1000's, etc. :-) I have a need to connect (via a second LAN card on the 825) to an Ethernet DECNET LAN (using LAT protocol). My preference is to simply connect to the one VAX machines here that does run TCP/IP (using ARPA services, for example), and use that host to get access to the many other VAX machines on the DECNET. However, I have been asked to look into a product called "DEKNET", from a company called "Ki Research". Has anyone heard of this, or know anything about its operation and support on HP 800-series machines? (The product apparantly implements the LAT protocol for non-DEC machines, and reportedly runs on the 800's. It also is reported to co-exist with other software using the same LAN card under TCP/IP.) Other than these "rumors", I have no information, not even a company phone number! If anyone has any info on this, or knows of a "better way", please e-mail to me. I'll be glad to summarize if there's interest.
