[comp.sys.hp] Trying to load R3 version of xmh on HP/9000

gerwitz@kodak.com (Paul Gerwitz) (10/05/89)

I ran the make of the standard X distribution and found that xmh will not
load due to the absence of a routine called 'alphasort'. After checking
on one of our sun servers, this routine is part of BSD but not available
on the HP/9000's under HP-UX. I looked in libbsd and it is not there.
 Any suggestions ??

On September 25th, John Milburn posted this note on comp.sys.hp.

The "support tape" contains among other things a compiled xmh from
source code off of the MIT tape. I am not clear why it did not work
for you so I will not hazard a guess.

The xmh was compiled under 6.5 but seems to work around here on 7.0.

Hope that this helps.
