We are running GNUE Emacs 18.55 with X11 on our HP9000/300 and 800 machines. We have noticed a problem on the 800 (HP-UX 3.1). If the emacs user uses the "Close" menu button on his/her emacs X11 hpwm window the 800 hangs and starts to use up enormous amounts of CPU cylces. We think it is due to a select() call in GNU Emacs which causes the program to expect more data when there really is no more to get. The same operation on the 300 (HP-UX 6.5) works as expected.
