We just installed emacs on our hp9000s840 for the first time. We are running hp-ux 3.1 and the 18.54 release of emacs. We are having problems with job control in conjunction with emacs. Our users who are using "ksh" have no problems. However, our "csh" users can not suspend a job and then resume it. When a csh user types ^Z to suspend the job, it is suspended properly. However, if they try to resume the job with the "fg" command, weird things begin to happen. The user has to type a CR after every emacs keystroke and most of the emacs commands with not work. Does anyone have a clue at what this could be? This only happens when the "csh" is being used. On a different note, we are having a problem with ^Y in emacs. For some reason, all of the users on our system have a line in their .profile or .login files that says "stty dsusp ^Y". I can't seem to find any documentation on what "dsusp" is and why we might need it. Any clues? -- Bill Gaines (...!gatech!iccdev!bill)
