I for one, appreciate Dave's efforts in this group (comp.sys.hp). If he
feels like posting/discussing HP's Excess program... then he should. It IS
A VERY IMPORTANT topic for all of us related to HP (even if we only own
$250,000 worth of their HW/SW, like me (my company actually)).

Have you noticed how many important topics/facts/etc Dave contributes? If
you don't feel it's particularly relavent, don't read it (I skip any
discussion of HP calculators that appears here, I don't begrudge the
posters the net bandwidth they use however). Dave is a very important
contributor to the net (Guess who authored the elm mailer?). As such he
deserves a little more respect than to be flamed.

I hope others will show their support, send mail to Dave, letting him know
you appreciate his efforts and contributions to this group, and to not let
one unhappy individual disuade Dave from contributing every thing he can
to this group. This is a forum of adults (I hope), a little consideration, and
tolerance goes a long way towards making this group useful to all.

No, I don't know Dave. I sent him a message after seeing his many valuable
postings... asking who he was... since I didn't know at the time.
