[comp.sys.hp] vmstat for hp9000/300 ?

schmidt@flash.bellcore.com (Robert O Schmidt) (11/10/89)

we are a new user of hp 300s. one Berkeleyism that seems to
be missing is vmstat. has anyone built this for the 300?

we have source for vmstat.c (for taho on vaxen) but it does
not look like it can be made to compile on the hp.

some other (not window dependent) utility that can
tell me about the systems performance and resource use would
be usefull, but i would prefer vmstat as found on suns and vaxen
running berkeley.

thanks....

yes, there is a version of vmstat available, but i never use it. hp
has a better program called "monitor". i believe you can get both of
them by asking your local SE to give you a copy. (why HP doesnt just
include the programs in a general release isnt entirely clear. (hint
hint to HP))
