I haven't seen a discussion on this topic before, so anybody has information, so please e-mail me if I have missed something. I just recently got the Software Release bulletin of the EECS Berkeley group which produces a lot of EE Analog/Digital simulator and other software relating to VLSI design and layout. I know for a fact that Spice3b.1 and Spice3C.1 has been ported to HP-UX, although it is not as straightforward as they make it out to be. There are still bugs and compiler warnings which occur. Moreover, I believe the X-Window version they use is V10R4 (?) which is not comaptible with our V11 under HP-UX 6.5. Also, the tape format of HP is different, so it is difficult to get tapes explicitly for HP machines. I would like to hear from others who have installed Berkeley CAD software to HP 9000/300 series. Each of the packages sell for $150.00 and there are still some real good stuff worth having especially for people in EE. Thanks for any information. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sriram Narayan 810446 Texas A&M University | INTERNET: narayan@photon.tamu.edu | Go Alain Prost!
