A couple of questions and a plea for help to you netters. On a 9k/550 running HP-UX 5.21 I have a directory that won't go away. When running fsck, it finds this dir as bad and prompts as to whether or not to fix it. Either response leaves me stuck at this spot. Fsck won't go any further. I have tried removing it via its inode number but it remains. I have tried moving the directory, then removing the new one and still it remains. Any suggestions. I would like to handle this problem with fsdb, but have only the man page on it, which certainly doesn't do the program justice. Does any one out there have more indepth info on fsdb and/or the structure of the HPUX 5.21 file system - or know where I can get it. Before you tell me of the dangers of fsdb, please don't. I have used fsdb quite a bit in a Convergent Tech. environment and know how dangerous (read fatal) it can be. I also realize that my problems are probably do to a bad spot on the disk. But I would like to take a stab at it with fsdb before doing a total backup/restore. Thanks to all ! ****************************************************************************** * Gorham P.
