I have not been able to find in the documentation of the HP9000/319 (HP-UX 6.5) what is the exact purpose of the "modem enable" switch located at the rear of the CPU box. That switch, which is present on all Series 200 and 300 computers, sets sensed lines DSR, CD, RI and CTS to "true" (active low) in the "disable" position, and connects them to their respective driver circuits in the "enable" position. > P.S. : as you may guess, my problem is to connect a modem on the serial port. If you have either HP TeamLine or HP ResponseLine software support services, you can direct questions about supported HP products to your regional HP Response Center. HP people who respond to netnews questions are donating our time. We not have the full resources of a Response Center at our disposal, and the person who knows the answer to any given question may not be reading news this week, or month, or...
