[comp.sys.hp] Compiling perl on HP-UX 7.0 with -O

jand@kuling.UUCP (Jan Dj{rv) (01/22/90)

Just curious,
did anybody out there manage to get perl (esp. eval.c) through HP:s cc
with the -O flag?

When compiling eval.c it just goes on and on for a very long time and then
crashes with a message "Out of memory" or somthing like that.

Is this one of those bugs previously discussed, but not fixed in 7.0, or
is this new (I never tried to compile perl with -O in the previous relese
so I don't know)?

Guess its back to +O1 for me.

The Saga continues...

That is what you have to do. The -O on HP/UX is broken.
