[comp.sys.hp] X11R4 on HPUX 7.0

dgreen@squid.cs.ucla.edu (Dan R. Greening) (02/08/90)

Hmm. Quite an easy installation of HPUX 7.0. Congratulations HP,
that was almost fun. Thanks to those who responded about their
positive experiences with HPUX 7.0.

Since I have my own X11R4 applications, I have to get X11R4 onto my HP
or modify my applications. (otherwise, I will be FORCED to use a
Sparcstation or an IBM RT or a Sun 3 [that's a hint, HP people]).

Questions:

  1. Can I expect to get the HP X11R4 on tape or via anonymous FTP from
HP in the near future? (i.e., one which includes Motif)? When?

  2. Can someone who has built X11R4 on HPUX 7.0 tell me whether I
should use the supplied configuration files (with SYSV defined)?
Do I have to compile with +O1 (we have HP 9000/350s)?

I get this funny message about SIGCHLD being redefined when I
compile, but it seems not to matter much. Or does it?

You can send e-mail, and I'll summarize.
