I'm having troubles with HP-UX 6.5's sendmail on a 9000/370. When I ask it to handle the address: mips.mips.com!guest It replys that it can't use uucp to deliver to "mips . mips . com". Right. "mips . mips . com" doesn't exist. Uupath, using the same original address, can correctly translate it. From what I can tell this is perfectly valid address. I understand that an address like: guest@mips.mips.com Wants to go over my ethernet cable. I still don't know why they don't have a switch for uupath in there... I beleive most HP sites, if they have any outside networking have uucp and not internet (HP itself excluded). Uupath still correctly translates it. The response center doesn't see this as a bug... I've tried. The help I'm looking for: Surely someone knowledgable about sendmail has fixed the inserted spaces problems... maybe even run all addresses thru uupath first. I'd like to get a copy. I'd also like to know from 7.0 sites, if this is still a problem? Will I need another sendmail for 7.0 too (assuming some kind soul helps me out at 6.5). -- Joe Garvey UUCP: {apple, backbone}!versatc!mips!cmic!garvey California Microwave Internet: garvey%cmic@mips.com 990 Almanor Ave HP Desk: garvey (cmic@mips.com) /hp1900/ux Sunnyvale, Ca, 94086 800-831-3104 (outside CA) 408-720-6439 (let it ring) 800-824-7814 (inside CA)
