[comp.sys.hp] Vectra 386 running Unix

Dear friends:

I need to set up a small multi-user application and I was reviewing
HP documents on the 386's running SCO Unix System V/386, rel 3.2.

This document I got in the mail, titled "HP Vectra PC Multiuser
Systems," displays a table of scaling a Vectra multiuser system in
terms of average number of users as follows:

QS/16S 2-8 users
QS/20 8-16 "
RS/20C 16-20 "
RS/25C 20-30 "

Are these figures realistic or is this just a sales brochure. My
application is a transaction-oriented one with 4 debit/credit per
transaction. I am currently evaluating SCO Foxbase, WordTech's
Quicksilver for Unix, and of course Informix 4gl. The application
is currently running on a single user PC written in compiled
Quicksilver. The business has grown to the point that it requires
2 or 3 data entry stations, and also requires on-line access to
client (or account holders in our case) during the day. We need a
multiuser environment.

Has anybody out their in HP land had any experience setting up a
similar system, and if yes, are these 386's really capable of
handling that many users in the production mode?

In another HP document, marked For HP Internal Use Only, it
positions RS/25C configured as a multiuser system as equal or better
in performance than an HP9000/825 system. It continues to say the
statement is based on credit/debit benchmarks pending future
release of benchmark data.

Any comments/elaboration on above questions is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
