As a heavy user of these manuals, I have to say that I prefer the paper bound versions to the old ring bound because they don't fly in 14 directions when they slide off the top of my over-crowded and messy desktop and hit the floor. They take up less desktop space when open and less shelf space when stored, both which are at a premium at my desk. I've never had a single page fall out due to broken backs. My one complaint, and here I side with the original poster, is that they are hard to keep open on the desk. I wish they were bound with those plastic or metal splines like the old System III and the BSD4.3 manuals. Rob Robason
