[comp.sys.hp] More moans about HP documentation...

rer@hpfcdc.HP.COM (Rob Robason) (05/31/90)

As a heavy user of these manuals, I have to say that I prefer the paper
bound versions to the old ring bound because they don't fly in 14
directions when they slide off the top of my over-crowded and messy
desktop and hit the floor. They take up less desktop space when open
and less shelf space when stored, both which are at a premium at my
desk. I've never had a single page fall out due to broken backs.

My one complaint, and here I side with the original poster, is that they
are hard to keep open on the desk. I wish they were bound with those
plastic or metal splines like the old System III and the BSD4.3 manuals.

How about trying HP-LaserROM: Documentation on a CD-ROM !!

No space consumed, never out of date (new CD's every month), ...

"Books" for the next generation
