I would need *urgently* the format of the directory written by the AdvLink backup (BrDir.Slk). While doing a backup the disk (on the PC side) got full and the BrDir.Slk file corrupted. This is the file that keeps the equivalences between the name & date of each PC backuped file and the name given in the HP-3000 to it. The AdvLink didn't stopped nor warned about that problem, so that this directory was transfered to the HP-3000 and then to tape, overwriting the previous backup. I noticed that the directory was corrupted while attempting the next backup. Now I need to recover a directory from the backup and I can't. The files I need were rolled off the BrLog.Slk and the DirPrint tell me that the directory is corrupted, showing only the few first files. I was looking into BrDir.Slk and BrLog.Slk and all the info is there but I need to patch it to be able to use it. The files are in compressed format so that I can't retrieve it 'manually' and they are more than 100!! It seems that DirPrint.Exe reads the BrDir.Slk until EOF and then read it backwards to sort the files by name & date because the listing stops after one of the last files in BrDir.Slk (which name starts with 'A') I would need the file format to do a program to fix the corrupted directory. At least to be able to patch the directory length to fool AdvLink. NOTE: I asked for help to Support Line, they call me at first hour of the next day and again three days after (international calls) but they couldn't find that format. --Eduardo/RA-- -- Eduardo J.
