Computer: HP9000/840 OS: HP-UX 7.0 A couple of our users have trouble using the 'chown' and the 'chgrp' commands. They have tha same problem if they are using the apropriate system calls. The private group has the setting 'ALL: CHOWN'. I can use these commands as a normal user. If a user use the ch... command the OS will reply that 'NOT OWNER' whether the user owns it or not. If a user write a C program using the system call ch... ; errno sets to 'NOT SUPERUSER'. My userid is below 500 and the users which have this problem have a userid above 2900. Does anyone else have this problem??
