[comp.sys.hp] cron quietly quiting.

jsadler@misty.boeing.com (Jim Sadler) (07/02/90)

I just had a problem with a 835SE in that cron stop friday at about
12:55. There are no error messages or other indications, the log file
shows things going along happily until nothing!!!! The system had been
up for 60 days. I seem to remember this happening on a 520 that we had
if it wasn't rebooted every so often cron would quietly quit.

Any ideas ?

That would be fine if I could teach it to start up and do its backup !!!
:-)

The buyers that use it don't have much of a sense of humor.
