Does anyone know of any tcp/ip solutions for hp-3000's with the normal applications - FTP and TELNET. Also, how they interacted with workstations like Sparcstations and Decstations and vaxes running BSD 4.3. I'm holding my breath -- but maybe even the r commands ( like rsh rlogin ... ). Question: Arpa services on 3000's? (FTP and Telnet) Answer: It depends ;-) It depends on what manner of 3000 you're talking about. If it is the 'classic' (MPE/V) 3000 (Series 70,68,58,...) then you should get in touch with Wollongong. You will also need to be running an apropriately 'new' V-Delta MIT - something in a V/D-5 or greater to get Ethernet... If you are talking about ARPA services on XL's (Series 9XX), the answer is to really pester your sales rep for information - they've been given the 'scoop' on what can and can't be said that the rest of us don't have. Again, it will likely require running an apropriately 'new' XL Release - probably something greater than 2.1. On the subject of the r commands and as a purely humanitarian and medical gesture, I would suggest normal breathing at this time ;-) rick jones ___ _ ___ |__) /_\ | Richard Anders Jones | MPE/XL Networking Engineer | \_/ \_/ Hewlett-Packard Co. | But it is TCP/IP!
