Hi, I have a very frustrating problem that I hope someone can help with. I have a series 300 hp-ux cluster running 7.0, and MIT's X11R4. Lately I've been runnng into a problem trying to fire up an xterm on my machine (the cluster server), but if I remsh over to one of the cnodes, I can then successfully fire up an xterm and display it back normally. The error message I get on the server is 'Broken Pipe'. I even get this error when I try to remsh to myself. All the X stuff is in a /usr/local/ tree that is shared between all the cnodes. There are no cdf's in this tree, and all the permissions are correct. Both login sessions (on each machine) have the same path, the same DISPLAY environment variable, and sure enough executing 'which xterm' shows that they both want to execute the same program. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks greg Greg Sylvain Academic Computing Services Systems Programmer UUCP: ...!{uunet}!umbc5!greg Internet (Arpa) : greg@umbc5.umbc.edu BITNET : GREGS@UMBC
