I'm in a bit of a bind and wonder if there is anybody out there who can help me. I'm trying to get an HP LaserJet IIP with PostScript cartridge to talk to a Sun SLC but am encountering problems with them. Even without the intervening system software (like filters and drivers, lpd etc.) and 'cat'ing a raw PostScript file directly to the printer all that seems to happen is the led starts blinking and the display says 'PS busy' and that's it. It never comes back and I have to reset it. When I try to use a driver (I'm trying to use the LWkit Laserwriter driver, heh, PostScript is PostScript right ? :-) the driver behaves as if the printer is alternative between busy and idle states. No luck there. I realize that this printer requires a ^D at the end of the PostScript file. I've manually inserted it and sent the raw file down the ttya but again to no avail. I'm supposed to have got this thing out the door by yesterday so any help would be much appreciated. Please mail directly to me and I'll post a summary if I get a solution. Thanks. -Alan ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alan Emtage, "Ashore it's wine, women and song; McGill University,CANADA abord it rum, bum and concertina" -19th Century British Naval Saying INTERNET: bajan@cs.mcgill.ca UUCP: ...!mit-eddie!musocs!bajan listmaster@cs.mcgill.ca BITNET: bajan@musocs.BITNET -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
