We have an HP SCSI Erasable optical disk on an HP-UX7.0 345. We want to read disks formatted on an Alphatronix Inspire SCSI Erasable optical disk under DOS. several data files written to the disk as DOS files. The low level media init appears compatible as the the 345 does see the disc but the 'dosls' and 'doscp' commands do not recognize the disk format. 'dd' will transfer data from the disk but we don't know what format it is in. I had a brief conversation with Alphatronix and they said their drive should make the disk look like a DOS volume but they had had some problems between versions of DOS. What version DOS file format makes the HP-UX DOS commands (dosls, doscp) happy? Would be cute if we could get this to work - we will be working with the folks who sent us the data for an extended time. All their data collection stuff is pc based and if we can just exchange the data we would be in good shape. Our intention is to use a 20gb Jukebox on as an archive. Suggestions/advice appreciated.
