I have an old HP 150 that I'm using as a terminal. Does anyone have a good termcap/terminfo for it? I'm currently calling it a 2621. Also, I use the function keys to tell my modem to dial, and it doesn't remember function keys if the power is off. I don't like the noisy fan, so the choices are to either leave it on full time with the fan disconnected (quiet, but abusive), or to stash the function keys somewhere obscure - is there any way for users to store data in non-volatile memory? I do have the disk drive, so I could use the computer side of it to store things - is there any way to program the terminal-mode function keys from DOS? The 150 is a very accurate emulation of an HP 2623 terminal; I'd suggest setting the 150's configuration for that. Normally the function keys should be retained with the power off. A common reason for lost of function key/configuration information is dead batteries: the 150 uses alkaline N cells which need to be changed about every 2 years; you might want to check the condition of the contacts also. There exist programs to store and recall the non-volatile portion of memory; I've never used them, but some people prefer them to fiddling with the battery (especially if you need more than one setup). ** Not an official statement **

If you're on HP-UX, type: TERM=150 ; export TERM If you want to move it to another system, just move the terminfo file, or use untic(1M) to produce the tic(1m) source. Rob Robason
