Hello, I know that rdump is available on hpux 7.0, but I'd like to ask, why is the format of dump different? For example, I can dump a filesystem on my vax, and restore it on my sun, and the other way around, but when I try to restore a dump from hpux, restore on both the sun and the vax core-dump... Is there a way around that? christos -- /------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | Christos Zoulas | 409 Phillips Hall, Electrical Engineering, | | christos@ee.cornell.edu | Cornell University, Ithaca NY 14853. | | christos@crnlee | Phone: (607) 255 4323 | Fax: (607) 254 4565 |

It must be somewhere???? I can't believe that HP would leave RDUMP out of HP-UX. ---------- It is present on my HP-UX 7.0 systems (300 and 800) as /etc/rdump. Also see the dump(1m) man page where it is documented. What version of HP-UX do you have? Andrew ** This is not an official statement by Hewlett Packard. **
