[comp.sys.hp] driving a terminal at 19.2 kbaud

pdwalker@bcarh471.bnr.ca (10/12/90)

Just a short trivia question here:

It is possible to drive a terminal residing off the rs-232 port of
an HP 9000/345 (HP-UX 6.5) at 19200 baud?

If so, how do I configure the device for the serial port to do
this?

Thanks in advance.

Paul

Yes.

1. Get it working at a lower speed (typ 9600).

2. Create an /etc/gettdefs entry for 19200.
Clone the entry being used, changing the leading id field and the baud.

3. Edit /etc/inittab to reference that new entry.

4. Logout on that port or kill the old getty.

I run all my ports on all my machines at 19.2.
