A recent posting reported that a version of talk was available for HP 9000/300's to run under HP-UX 7.0 as hp-ux/talk_7.0_300.tar.Z on me10.lbl.gov. In a clustered environment this version of talk does not seem to work properly except on the fileserver, which means, in effect, not at all. A. V. Le Blanc ZLSIIAL@UK.AC.MCC.CMS

If your /etc/inetd.conf file is a CDF then you must add the ntalk entry to all the /etc/inetd.conf+/* files in the cluster and run "inetd -c" on each diskless node. If it's not a CDF then just run "inetd -c" on each diskless node. ...tai
