I am looking for a Graphical User Interface (GUI) for a network of
HP9000 Series 300 work stations. My original intention was to simply
wait for HP-VUE which is to be bundled with the next update of our
HP-UX operating system
m.
However, HP has informed me that 12 Mbytes is the minimum RAM requirement
for HP-VUE and that 16 Mbytes is recommended. This ``free'' GUI may require
us to layout significant money for RAM.
It is also possible to use Looking Glass or X.desktop as a GUI. Does anyone
have any experience with these? Are they memory hogs as well? I would
be particularly interested in anyone with comparative experience with the
the GUI's. If there is sufficient response, I would be willing to post
a summary of responses.
