A sporadic recent endeavor of mine has been to upgrade MS-DOS Kermit for the Hewlett Packard HP 110 and Portable Plus (110+) computers. The most recent version is Kermit 3.02. Some features that I have incorporated in the past year: (a) Tektronix 4010 emulation is supported. (b) The internal modem on the HP 110 is supported. Select the modem port ("SET PORT MODEM"), go to connect mode, and and then press "Extend char d" (Extended Char and d at the same time). You will then be asked for the number you want to dial. (c) Speed in connect mode is faster. Maximum speed without flow control is about 3000 baud for the 110 and 4800 baud for the Portable Plus. (d) The same program works on both the 110 and the Portable Plus. (e) The break key works in connect mode. Many thanks are due to Prof. Joe Doupnik of Utah State Univiversity for his considerable contributions to MS-DOS Kermit. Without his efforts this version of Kermit for the HP 110/110+ (and a number of earlier versions) would not be possible. I also thank unknown authors of previous versions of HP 110/110+ Kermit whose code is an integral part of the latest version. Kermit version 3.02 for the HP 110/110+ should soon be available from the Kermit files at Columbia University. In the meantime, I will be happy to supply this program to the interested. Some ways in which I can deliver the program: (1) Email the uuencoded binary or the ascii boo file. (2) Send me a formated disc and stamped return mailer. 9114 or IBM 720 k formats are available. (3) Send me $3.00 and your adress. I will then furnish the disc and mail it to you. Let me know which disc format you need. I will appreciate your comments. In particular, please let me know of any problems you encounter so I can fix them.
