We have been using the HP64000 cross development system on our HP9000 series 500 for several years. We have ordered a 832 to replace the 500 and I am wondering if the HP64000 cross compilers and assemblers are or will be available for our 832? We have been using the HP64000 generate code for the Z8000 and Z80 uProcessors. For that matter anyone know of another cross compiler and assembler for the Z8000 that will run on an 832? Thanks in advance! -- Mark Reid ...!ubc-cs!van-bc!resrch!markr Moli Energy Ltd., Burnaby, B.C. Canada

There are no plans to port the original HP64000 compilers to the S800 RISC workstations. These compilers are discontinued and have been replaced by our newer Advanced Cross Language System (AxLS) compilers which ARE available on S800 RISC machines. However, AxLS does not support the targets that you are using and there are currently no plans to do so (AxLS supports 68xxx and 808x processor families). If you need to move from your S500 to an S800 then you will need to either change microprocessor or change to a non-HP compiler. Hope this helps, Bob Gronlund
