I recently read an article in PC week (an Australian publication) that talks about some new DAT drives from HP. In this same article mention was made of some DAT tapes that were half as long again as existing tapes. I took this to mean 120min tapes -> 180min tapes. I tried TDK and BASF and they don't have them. Does anybody know a company that makes 180min DAT tapes? The article also went on to say that these new tapes allowed 2GB on the standard HP DAT drive and that the drive with compression could get up to 8GB. Impressive, but only if I can get my hands on a 180 min tape! -- Greg Lehmann, CSIRO Division of Manufacturing Technology, Telephone: +61 7 377 3877 c/- Dept. of Mining & Metallurgical Eng., Facsimile: +61 7 371 4461 The University of Queensland, QLD 4072.
