Hi guys, I am using an hp 9000/825 with hp 700/92 terminals. The system is connected in a lan with many other systems, and for this reason the terminal is vt100 for default. In the config terminal the 700/92 is setted like em100 but many times it eats a lot of characters! (it's a fat terminal :-)) for this reason i setted it like HP terminal, but when I write TERM=HP export TERM it became more fat and CRAZY and a big casino start. It is impossible to write and read because a big sequence of ' appears on terminal. So I have to reset in em100 mode and reset TERM=vt100 and re export TERM. ....so why this big trouble? and why in the em100 the 700/92 create a so big confusion? An hp terminal is more expensive than a Qume, but it seems not to be better! (but sure more beautiful :-)) Renzo Marcanzin aire@alessia.dei.unipd.it

Try: TERM=hp; export TERM when in HP mode, as for why you have problems in em100 mode I can't say. You might try checking your settings for flow control. Jon Watts | In no way shape or form should this be construed jwatts@hprmokg.rose.hp.com | as representing Hewlett-Packard.
