I need help to understand the output of monitor. We have a cluster with some 340s and an 824 server under HP/UX 7.0. The 340s are diskless and have 4 MB physical memory. When I run "monitor" at a 340, the program shows the following values for physical memory: At the GLOBAL SYS STATUS screen there are 2716 kilobytes maximum user memory. At the VIRTUAL MEMORY STATUS screen there are 460 total in use and 60 free PYSICAL MEMORY PAGES. Multiplied with a pagesize of 4096 bytes (520 x 4096) I get only 2080 kilobytes of physical memory (instead of 2716). Is this difference ok or have I lost some memory by configuration faults? -- Burkhard Wiegel tel. +49/30/314-25318 TU Berlin, Sekr.
