I compiled GDB on an HP 9000/370 running HP-UX 7.0. GDB can't find the symbol-table in any programs that have been compiled with debugging information. Has anyone gotten GDB to work on a similar system? Any help would be appreciated. -=- Bob Griffiths griffi-r@cis.ohio-state.edu

Any chance that the gcc you use has been configured to use
HPUX-object/library format ? That is quite common and leads to the
errors you describe.
Even on danger of repeating myself: Most GNU-HP-binaries are available
as an "Instant Archive" (maybe I really should go into advertising ?
:-) from golem.ps.uci.edu via anon ftp. Just uncompress and untar it
and gcc(using gnu-object/library format),gas,gdb,g++,bison and quite a
few other of the GNU programming tools will be installed on your HP
9000/[34]00 system automatically.
